Make a Rail Reservation Online Within Seconds
If you want to travel on trains, you need to get the tickets first. Booking tickets have become a simpler and an easier task with the online mode of ticket reservation process. You can make a rail reservation by logging onto the official website of the Indian Railways.
While booking a ticket, you have to enter the date of journey, your destination (from and to) and the type of class that you prefer (seating, sleeper or AC coaches). Then click on the “Search trains” option. This will display a list of trains that provide services to your choice of destination. If seats are available, it will display the message as “Available”. Once you select the train and the time of your choice, the website will take you to the next page, which is the “passenger details” form. Here, you will have to enter the details of the number of people travelling, their names and age. Then next step will be the payment process. You can pay for the ticket with your debit card, credit card, cash card or use the direct debit facility. Once you make the payment, you will get your ticket.
Options are available for booking a ticket for a single trip or a round trip. You can opt for an E-ticket or an I-ticket also. You will have to carry a valid ID proof in this case. Senior citizens (above the age of 60), retired government officials and military personnel get a rebate on the ticket prices.
