Make a Railway Reservation by Whichever Mode You Prefer

Booking train tickets is an easy affair these days, with so many different ways to get your railway reservation done. The easiest and most preferred method is the online reservation. The IRCTC website and several other travel and tourism sites assist you in making your booking online.  All train details are available on the website. If you enter the 5-digit number of the train or its name, the train time table, source and destination, stoppages, ticket fares, seat availability and other such details are displayed. In case you have to search for a train on your day of travel, a list of trains running between the two stations on that specific day is put in front of you.

Nowadays, you have the IRCTC mobile application, wherein you can avail all the services of IRCTC on your cell phone handsets. The only condition is that the mobile should be java enabled, and also should have GPRS connectivity. Booking tickets at the station booking counters and through travel agents are the conventional methods.

If an emergency comes up and you have to travel within a short notice, you have the option to book your ticket in the Tatkal scheme. The booking opens at 10 am the day before the journey and extends till the final chart is prepared. You are also required to present a photo ID proof at the time of booking. A maximum of 4 passengers can be booked in one PNR number.
