By logging on to the website of IRCTC, you can obtain all information on trains such as availability of trains running on a particular route, train schedule, train time table, ticket fares and seat availability. First of all, you have to create an account on the website. After it you can use your account for booking, cancellations and other purposes.
When you reserve tickets, you have to provide all your details such as your name, age, date of travel, boarding station, destination station, etc. Based on these details a number will be issued and this number will be printed on the top left-hand corner of your ticket. This number is called the PNR number and is used to check the status of your ticket.
