Indian Rail Reservation System Expanding Non-Stop

Trains are India’s favorite locomotives, the reason being the cheap fares it allows to everyone. For the same reason, Indian railway reservation is a very difficult task and requires a lot of planning. With all other aspects of the railway industry expanding, the ticketing system has also shown considerable amount of growth over the years.

Apart from providing quality and comfortable travel and service to its passengers, the railway has also made reservations of tickets easy for people. Earlier until the late 1980s, train reservations were done manually. This was a tedious job for both issuers as well as passengers. With the advent of technology, replacement of manual systems of bookings was happening with computerized systems of booking.

From 1995 onwards, almost all ticketing systems went online, with all details up to date and made it easier for passengers to book individual or group tickets from their zone of comfort. This is because the system understands that standing for hours in long queues may not be feasible for everyone. Therefore, they have opened up railway portals that make it possible for one to book their tickets with ease and comfort.

These websites are simple and easy to understand and use. On entering the boarding point and end point of travel along with the dates of journey, a list of trains appears before you. On clicking the desired train name appears the availability of seats whether “Available”, “RAC” or “Waiting List”. You can choose the train that suit your requirement and make your rail reservation.
